STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. God Wrote a Book – The
Bible
The Bible was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy
Spirit. Because the Bible was inspired by God, it is the absolute truth,
contains no errors in the original manuscripts, and is applicable to all
cultures and people. 2 Timothy 3:16-17- All Scripture is God-breathed and
is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. [Additional

2. God is One – Trinity
The Lord God is one. He exists as one substance in three persons: the
Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity equally
possesses all the attributes of God but often serve different functions.
Deuteronomy 6:4- Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 2
Corinthians 13:14- May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

3. God the Father
God the Father is best understood by his attributes. God is above all
holy; He is magnificent, unique and distinct. He knows all things, is all
powerful, and is ever present. He does not change, is absolutely sovereign
and is both good and great. He is faithful, loving and compassionate, full
of grace and mercy. But God the Father is also perfectly just and righteous,
hating all evil and severe in his wrath.
Exodus 15:11- Who among the gods is like you, O Lord? Who is like you —
majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?

4. God the Son
Jesus Christ was sent by the Father. He freely took upon himself the
nature of man (he was completely human and completely God). He was without
sin, honored the Father, and paid the price for our sin by His death. He
arose from the dead and now reigns in heaven with the Father. He is in every
way qualified and suitable to be an all sufficient Savior.
Philippians 2:9-11- Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave
him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow,in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,to the glory of God the Father.

5. God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit guides believers into truth, glorifies Christ. He
convicts people of sin, God’s righteousness and the coming judgment. He
comforts us, gives spiritual gifts to believers, assures us of our salvation
in Christ and makes us more like Him.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17- Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple
and that God's Spirit lives in you?

6. Mankind
Man was made in the image of God, holy and in wonderful fellowship with
Him. By voluntary rebellion against God man fell from that holy state and
lost fellowship with God. The consequences are that man is now unable to
attain a right relationship with God by his own efforts. Mankind is now
completely void of the holiness which is required by the law of God. We are
completely given over to the gratifications of the world, Satan and our own
sinful passions. We are, therefore, under condemnation to eternal ruin
without defense or excuse. The salvation God provided in Jesus Christ is
man’s only hope. Acts 17:26-28- From one man he made every nation of men,
that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set
for them and the exact places where they should live. 27 God did this so
that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though
he is not far from each one of us.

7. Salvation
A. Salvation
Provided
Jesus Christ died upon the cross and bore the wrath and punishment of
God so that we would not have to (substitution). Jesus sacrifice for us
(atonement) means that in Him our sins have been pardoned (forgiveness); we
are declared righteous (justification); our relationship with God is
restored (reconciliation); and we have been given the promise of eternal
life. This salvation is a free gift made available to all by the grace of
God and cannot be earned through our own efforts.
B. Salvation ReceivedSalvation requires hearing the
Gospel accompanied by the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. This
supernatural work, called regeneration, produces repentance, and faith in
our Lord Jesus Christ.
[Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God's grace whereby
believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart
brought about by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the
sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.][Repentance
is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus
Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Savior.]
C.
Salvation Experienced
Growth in grace should continue throughout a saved
person's life. The Biblical word for this is sanctification. Sanctification
is the experience, beginning at the point of salvation, by which the
believer is set apart to God's purposes, and is enabled to progress toward
moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy
Spirit dwelling in him. John 3:16-18- For God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have eternal life. 2 Corinthians 5:17-Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he
is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

8. The Church - God's design
for community
The church is a local community of baptized believers unified through
faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ, to obeying all
of His commands, and it seeks to bring the gospel to the world. The Church
works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of
glorifying Christ.Matthew 16:18- And I tell you that you are Peter, and
on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not
overcome it.

9.
Jesus is coming to earth again
The Lord Jesus Christ will return to this earth, personally,
bodily, and visibly to establish his reign in a kingdom that will never end.
As the sovereign Lord, He will resurrect and judge all humanity.
Luke 21:27- At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with
power and great glory.

10. Eternity - Somewhere forever
Though all people will experience a physical death, we are created to exist
forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in
union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated
from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven
and Hell are places of eternal existence.
1 John 5:11-12 - And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not
have the Son of God does not have life.
